It was an emotional Sunday for my wife and I. This was our third PB&J event where we made sandwiches with family and friends from El Dorado Hills Jiu Jitsu and passed them out in Sacramento.
The first time I was really surprised to see so many people in the streets. The second time, I felt confused when confront by a jaded local business guy, this time my heart aches. And every time, every single interaction, people were so thankful. Genuinely thankful.
This winter, compared to last, is much colder. People were happy to get sandwiches but even happier to have warm clothes. There was desperation to be warm
.
I remember a few years ago when the stock market tanked, I was living in Japan and many immigrant families became homeless in just a few months. People died in the cold. It was really sad.
If you have any warm clothes sitting in your closet please make a donation. I’m sure someone will be very happy to wear it.
