Sean Gonsolin began jiujitsu with curiosity to learn and perfect the art of self defense. His explorations to understand the art eventually spread to his life off the mat. With time, his jiujitsu came to represent a philosophy, a way of thought, in not only understanding himself but also those around him. His pursuits to self understanding has become a path to understand the human condition.
In his seminar today he showed with simplicity, the intricacies and complexity of control, pressure, leverage, and prediction. He started with the closed guard, arm drag and pendulum sweep with a few details on the grips that ensure the success of the move. He followed up the seminar with different technique to control and submission from the gift wrap series, ezekiel choke, and Rickson Gracie choke. Awesome!
I’m humbled to stand next to this guy. Congratulations!
