Lee Kemp: Success is rent, and rent is due everyday

I recently started following Lee Kemp on Instagram. One of the greatest wrestlers in history, it’s great to see him involved on social media sharing his thoughts and words of wisdom.

One phrase that really resonated with me goes something like this, success is rent, and you gotta pay rent every day. It’s a great reminder that success isn’t one act but continuous acts.

Much like the idea of balance, something you need to constantly work towards. “Rent” is a great analogy because don’t ever get to own something for rent. To keep a rental you need to pay up. You need to have cash in your bank account to pay up when rent is due. If you don’t have enough cash available, you don’t get to rent it.

A coach I had in high school said you need money in your savings for big matches. The more money you stash away from training and learning the game, the bigger withdrawal you can make when you need it. I believe Lee Kemp’s analogy is much the same, a reminder that you need to constantly work towards a better and stronger you.

Thank you Coach Lee Kemp for sharing your passion!
