Japanese Physical Culture: Judo with leg attacks

What a great video of all the great attacks that incorporate grabbing the leg. Interestingly, many of the leg grabs include counter attacks that are stopping throws. It’s interesting to see how much a throw can be countered when a leg grab is allowed.

There’s no arguing that the most recent 2016 Judo Olympics was very exciting, there seemed to be a cross where the rules didn’t allow for leg attacks, but more time to progress for the submission and pin when they went to the ground.

2020 Tokyo Olympics will be another exciting show of Judo as the Olympics return to Japan from their last host city in 1964.
